Okay, I have a stupid question here:
Does anyone know the TSA "rules" for a whiteboy taking tackle on a plane? I mean, are they going to worry that I might scream, "allah akbar" while slashing people's throats with my Red Devils or my KastMasters? I've never taken tackle as carry-on, so I don't know. This is the first time I'm going to have carry-on only.
Looking into airline rules and regs is a mind fuck these days, so it's my last resort. I was hoping one of y'all have some insight and/or experience in this matter. My Dad handed this stuff down to me, so I don't wanna lose it to the TSA and all the PC bullshit going on in this country.
Who's doing the first Cannon Ball?

As to my cleanin' the 'swimmers', that only applies to the fish. Us mammals will have to clean ourselves accordingly to our preference and those around us. I have to draw the line somewhere! Unless you have a special request...?
Uh Oh. I'm going to shut up now...

whiteboys are allowed one roll of triple ply tp, one non dirty book and a change of clothes.
that's it, sorry. all other whiteboys are tackled, frisked and buttplugged by NSA. them's the breaks. good luck!
Got this from the TSA website.
Fishing Rods/Poles. Fishing rods are permitted as carry-on and checked baggage. However, please check with your air carrier to confirm that rods meet size limitations for carry-on items. Ultimately, it is the carrier's decision on whether rods and poles can be transported as carry-on baggage.
Fishing Tackle. Fishing equipment should be placed in checked baggage. Some tackle is sharp and dangerous. Expensive reels or fragile tackle such as flies should be packed in your carry-on baggage.
I would guess that you can bring your pole but should leave the tackle in SD. Don't worry though I got enough and the Wally world has a good selection.
Thanks kerrcarto. I never even thought to check with the TSA... duh! I guess I was already too deep into the 18-pack to think logically. The tackle will have to stay at home this time dammit!

buttplugged? Ouch! Maybe I should've driven...
Humm.....I'm going to have to look over my fishing rods and reels. I've not used them since I got married 8 years ago.
Might be time for a new set...
anyone got a list of recommendations for what I should get?
Nancy, it all depends on your preference. Light pole, heavy pole, how much you wanna spend, etc. I've seen a lot of good deals on rod/reel combos for cheap @ WallMart, if you don't mind getting a Chinese-made rig. I had a hell of a time trying to find a rod that was Made in The U.S...
Another option is to FedEx them to yourself. Given that the airlines are charging an arm and a leg for extra checked baggage, it'd end up costing about the same thing, and would lighten the load you'd be hauling back and forth to the airport.
I've considered that, Omnibus. I'm flying down on American which, you heard it today, is now charging $15 for the first bag. Since I'll be in Texas for five days, I don't know if I can put it all in a carry-on. I guess I could but I'd be smelling like CharlieDelta by Saturday.
Wassup, CD!
good call, leslie
anybody needs to mail something here, drop me a line and i'll give you a physical to ship to.
BWAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHA! You suck Paul! That was a totally un-provoked attack... BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!!
CD, feel free to kick my ass down by the river. Just wait 'til I'm good and drunk so I don't have to feel it.
Hey CD, did you hear about Marion Barber's new contract with the Cowboys? He's now the second highest-paid running back in the league behind Ladanian Tomlinson and I believe ahead of Larry Johnson. He's in some serious company now.
Super Bowl: Chargers/Cowboys
Nah dude, I hadn't heard that. I like to watch the games, but I don't really follow WTF is going on with the players. Too much crap to follow and remember for me.
However, I think you meant to say...
Super Bowl: CHOKERS/Cowboys
